Striking a Blow Against Opinions Contrary to Your Own

A new group was started recently on MyFortDodge.com. It is called WWP, Well-Informed Webster People. Here is one of their descriptive phrases for WWP (their words), “Good government is the business of EVERY citizen." Apparently, WWP thinks not EVERY citizen in Fort Dodge is WWP material and therefore Good government is the business of only those who see it their way. They seem to be having trouble getting members as in the two weeks or so since their inception they haven't attracted any. I did… Continue

The Opinion Well Informed Webster People Deleted...

Point by Point, this plan is a loser... Fort Dodge Hydro-Electric is a shell company consisting of three people, a chemical engineer, a civil engineer, and an unnamed attorney. The use of Fort Dodge in their name in my opinion was to gain support for a project that would earn these three a large sum of money for not a lot of work. 1. They wanted $795,000 to get the license for renovation of the dam. The going rate for this type of project is at top end, $250,000. What would they do in return?… Continue

Fixing Fort Dodge's Streets

Everybody is squawking about Fort Dodge's city streets. They are in bad shape. We all know we have this problem and we all want it fixed, including the city manager, mayor, and city council. It affects residents in their daily travel and it affects the impression visitors have of our city. These streets did not suddenly fall into decay in 2005-2008, they have bee crumbling for some time. Much patchwork has been done, but no real rebuilding, at least not city wide. The streets have been deterior… Continue

Sick of the Baseball Steroid Scandal. It Does not Belong in Front of Congress!

I certainly respect our body of congress and what it represents in our history, but I would have a tough time keeping my cool in front of those grandstanding idiots who make it all seem civilized and proper by calling each other mam and gentleman. Watching them hold hearing on MLB today lessened my respect for members of congress. What a bunch of ignorant goofs. They even went so far today to split along party lines on who was with McNamee and who was with Clemens. I cannot put the blame square… Continue

This Conservative May be Voting for Obama

Why? Three reasons.

1. The Republican party has failed to provide a candidate that will make a good commander in chief. The candidates are all less than ideal from many standpoints, not the least of which is any forward thinking ideas on removing the logjam on capitol hill and getting good legislation passed that reforms or improves social security, health care, reduces our budget and pays down the deficit. And on and on.

2. I do not want Hillary Clinton as President. The c…
