Train Ride - Fort Dodge to Moorland

From the Union Pacific Railroad Operation Lifesaver Safety Train on June 29, 2009. The route started from the northeast part of Fort Dodge, near Senior High and ended near Moorland. We also made a stop over the Great Western High Bridge, 138 feet over the Des Moines River.

That looked interesting aside from stopping on the bridge. Was it a special event? My husband and I want to take an Amtrak up the coast.

When I was a kid my Grandpa was a train engineer. He planned a train ride to Webster City. It was dark so we could not see anything but the ride was fun.

Yes, a special event hosted by the Union Pacific Railroad to promote Operation Lifesaver. It was my first time on a train, and after this I'd do the Amtrak to see what that's like. I enjoyed it very much.
