I feel like I'm one of the oldsters when you mention KVFD, KUEL, KWMT, and others that have come and gone like the rest of us. I graduated in 1964 from FDHS. What memories I have of FDHS. The Fort Dodge Community School District has announced the open house schedule for the new Fort Dodge Middle School. Students, staff, parents, and the general public are being asked to mark their calendars accordingly even though this schedule is tentative as of today.

Three U.S. Geological Survey streamgages in Iowa, which measure streamflow and water level, will be shut down on Friday, May 17, due to the federal budget sequestration.
The affected Iowa streamgages will be discontinued beginning this Friday because of a five-percent sequestration-related budget…

The updated newspaper circulation numbers are in from the 2013 Spring report and for our local newspaper the numbers once again aren't pretty.
The Alliance for Audited Media Report for 3/31/2013 states that The Messenger has a Total Average Paid Circulation for the Monday through Saturday…
