Steve How are you and your family dowing these days? We at the Williamszeka Ranch are just peachey. I just had my 30 yr class party, and I had a great time that night. I seen your old pal Joe Ruge and his wife Linda there, and Joe looked better then ever! I have a question for you, , where dose the name Williams come, what country??? I think it is eather Scottish, or Welsh???

Hows things going? Gosh, its been forever! Hope all is going well in Crystal City. Ft Dodge is still the same, we're trying to get somethings going with trail systems that will connect some of our corridores of parks/ town and nature. Its a big project, but were slowly plugging away at it.

Steve thanks much. When I first started in the military, at Univ of I, I remember in 78 a lot of Viet Nam protest feelings and hatred for those in uniform. I saw so many changes over the years to include small towns in Germany where the locals loved us, to unbelievable bonding from the soldiers in the Republic of Georgia, and in this century going out to eat lunch and people not letting you pay but buying food, coffee, pizza, you name it. Shaking your hand at the airport thanking you for serving. I won't lie- there are a lot of easier ways to make a living. Yet as hard as it was sometimes on everyone I knew, I am proud of everything the Army did for me, gave me. We need policemen, firemen, EMTs, military and others to serve. As a nation we can't survive without their willingness to stand and serve- whether the politics are popular or not. Best way to help me today, is the next time you see a young soldier, sailor or marine, just tell them you appreciate them keeping you and your family safe. Sometimes that is all they need to hear, when they have had a long day or a long flight and feel so far away from home. Just knowing it is important what we do as soldiers can mean the difference of another year, another day, taking risk or saving someone who doesn't even understand what freedom really is. Thanks for your thoughts. It was notes like yours that kept me going day after day.

I still play music some and one of my twins is a bass player now. I enjoy it. Always had an interest in the military and even made the US Marine Corps Band try out, but while at U of I really pursued ROTC and found a great career. I am fortunate but there are easier ways to make a living.

Just started searching FDSH stuff on the net one night and found the site. Been a lot of years since 1978 but brought back some memories all the same.

Good to hear from you and with hope will atttend the next reunion. I missed some due to deployments over the years. Thanks and I look forward to staying touch. BB
