You are cordially invited to a Wine Tasting and Scentsy fundraiser to benefit the animals at Almost Home.  The event is planned for Saturday, April 16th from 12 – 4 pm at Crystalwood Creations.  They are located at 1644 Nelson Avenue (across from the airport).  The River Valley Orchard & Winery will be on hand serving up to 11 different wines for you to sample.  After taste testing, you can purchase a bottle to take home.

Yesterday, an attractive, well-dressed young couple brought their dog to the shelter because they were moving and couldn't keep him anymore. The dog is beautiful, by the way, a three year old un-neutered male. Here's the conversation that followed:



Shelter: Is he up to date on his shots?

Couple: He had his puppy shots when we got him.

Shelter: Has he had a Rabies shot?

Couple: Yeah, I guess so.

Next weekend (September 23-26) is our Grand Opening of Almost Home. Our volunteers have been working so hard to make it special for you.

Thursday evening, September 23rd, we're hosting a reception for donors to the capital campaign. They'll be on hand to welcome the dogs and cats "almost home."

Friday, September 24th we'll have Open House from 2 to 4 p.m., with a Chamber Ribbon Cutting at 2.
